What is Oseltamivir 75 mg?
Oseltamivir 75 mg is an oral antiviral medication primarily used for the treatment and prevention of influenza A and B viruses. It is especially effective when administered within the first 48 hours of flu symptoms.

Mechanism of Action
Oseltamivir inhibits the action of neuraminidase, an enzyme that allows the influenza virus to replicate and spread between cells. By blocking this enzyme, the drug:

Indications

Dosage & Administration
Treatment of Influenza
Adults & Adolescents (13 years and older):→ 75 mg twice daily for 5 days
Children (1 to 12 years):→ Dose adjusted by weight (consult pediatric dosing guide)
Infants (2 weeks to <1 year):→ 3 mg/kg twice daily for 5 days (as prescribed)
Prevention of Influenza
Adults & Adolescents:→ 75 mg once daily for at least 10 days after exposure
Children:→ Dose adjusted by weight and duration based on risk level
Note: Capsules can be taken with or without food. Taking with food may reduce the chance of stomach upset.
